Watchers

Hello

As you can see from my recent submissions I have been making protective covers for the Kobo e-reader.

The Kobo e-reader is the first commercially available e-reader in New Zealand. We can't purchase the Amazon Kindle or the Barnes and Noble nook, or even the Sony E-reader here - at least not from the companies that make them (people can sell ones that they've bought overseas). So when the Kobo came out it sold out again and again - there just haven't been any readers actually in stores as the back orders keep selling out! Since the Kobo doesn't come with any kind of slip pouch for protection and the official Kobo line is not yet launched, I decided to make my own Kobo covers and see if anyone was interested. I sold five in the first week I listed them!

I've just spent most of this weekend making 10 more Kobo covers. They're a lot more work than pendants and earrings that's for sure! I hope other people like them too :) We don't have the iPad here in NZ yet either, but are supposed to get it in July. Maybe I could make covers for those too. Although it would take more material.

I've got a craft fair coming up on July 11th where I'm going to sell jewellery. I'll let you know how it goes :)

Life is what we make it, and the world is what we make it. The eyes of the cheerful and of the melancholy man are fixed upon the same creation; but very different are the aspects which it bears to them.
